Important 2015-2016 Dates
Meet-the-Teacher Night is Monday August 24:  This is an open house from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. for grades PK-5 where you and your child can drop in at your convenience to meet his/her classroom teacher.  During this time you can also drop off school supplies and communicate your transportation plans for before and after school.  Meet-the-Teacher Night is the only scheduled time for you and your child to stop and meet with your teacher prior to the start of the school year.

First Day of School for Students: 
The first day of school is scheduled for Wednesday, August 26.
 
New Payment System Lunch Account FAQ Now Available
We have received numerous questions about the district's new payment system regarding lunch accounts.  In order to assist you with our new system, we are providing more information in the form of a "frequently asked questions" page. 

New Payment System Now Available

Ankeny Community School District’s new online payment system called PayForIt is now available to add money to meal accounts, or pay other school fees.

Access the PayForIt system here, which includes tutorials and frequently asked questions on using the system and setting up an account; or access the PayForIt website at www.payforit.net.


Andrew Burg named East Elementary Principal
Pending approval by the Ankeny Board of Education July 6, the Ankeny Community School District is pleased to announce Mr. Andrew Burg as the new principal for East Elementary School. Mr. Burg is currently the principal of Hanawalt Elementary School in Des Moines. Previously, he served as the Dean of Students for Capitol View Elementary and was a fifth grade classroom teacher at Perkins Elementary in Des Moines. Read more here.
Program to Distribute School Supplies to Students in Need
Mark your calendar!  Ankeny Community Education and Project Fresh Start are continuing their decade-long tradition of providing school supplies and backpacks to students in need in the Ankeny community.  Any Ankeny Schools or Ankeny Christian Academy students are welcome to take part in the program to prepare for the 2015-2016 school year.
  • Project Fresh Start plans to distribute supplies at the Neveln Center, 406 SW School Street:
    • July 30 from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
    • August 1 from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
  • During these Days of Giving, The Ankeny Klothing Exchange (TAKE) will also be open at the Neveln Center.  Limited dental and vision services will be offered to children on July 30.

Don't forget: Project Fresh Start Donations Accepted Until July 15
You still have time!  Ankeny Community Education and Project Fresh Start are gearing up to continue their decade-long tradition of providing school supplies and backpacks to students in need in the Ankeny community.  They are currently collecting cash donations and school supplies for their Days of Giving and need your help.  Learn more about Days of Giving here.
